How do you add an image to a post or design one?
In the post, tap “Bild wählen” (Choose image) for our templates, “Eigenes Foto” (Your own photo) to upload, or “Gestalten” (Design) to put text and a logo on the image.

You can pick a ready-made image from our templates, upload your own photo or design an image with text and your logo.
Step by step
Choosing an image or photo
- In the post, under Bild (Image), tap Bild wählen (Choose image – our templates) or Eigenes Foto (Your own photo).
- In Unsere Vorlagen (Our templates), search for a keyword at the top, e.g. “pumpkin,” and filter by format. Tap an image – done.
- In Eigene Bilder (Your images), tap Hochladen (Upload), choose a photo and crop it (portrait 4:5, square, landscape 1.91:1 or original).
- Tap Speichern und verwenden (Save and use). The photo is then also stored under Eigene Bilder.
Designing an image yourself
- In the post, tap Gestalten (Design) – or open Bild gestalten (Design image) in the menu and choose Neue Gestaltung (New design).
- Choose the format at the top, e.g. Beitrag 4:5 (Post 4:5), Google 4:3 or Story 9:16.
- Add layers with Bild hinzufügen (Add image), Text, Kasten (Box) and Logo hinzufügen (Add logo). Under Ebenen (Layers), you move them forward or back.
- Tap Für den Beitrag übernehmen (Use for post) – or, in the Bild gestalten area, Speichern (Save).
Tip: Your brand colors and logos from the Firmen-Briefing (Company profile) are already waiting in the Designer. Images under Dateien (Files) with “logo” in their name also show up under Logo hinzufügen.
Note: Instagram only displays images between 4:5 (portrait) and 1.91:1 (landscape). If your image doesn’t fit, tiaki crops out the center when publishing. The preview shows you exactly that crop.
Not working?
- “Das Bild ist zu groß” (The image is too large): After cropping, a photo can be at most 3 MB. Choose a smaller crop.
- “Dieses Foto kann der Browser nicht lesen” (The browser can’t read this photo): Save the photo as JPEG or PNG and try again.
- “Der Speicher dieses Workspace ist voll” (This workspace’s storage is full): See Storage space.
- Design gone? Everything is automatically saved as a draft while you work. You’ll find it under Bild gestalten in the Verlauf (History).
