How do you upload files and organize them in folders?
Under Dateien (Files), tap “Dateien hochladen” (Upload files) or drag them into the box – up to 500 MB per file. “Neuer Ordner” (New folder) creates folders, and the pencil lets you rename or move files.

Under Dateien (Files), you store everything your business needs: images, videos, PDFs and more. Every file is scanned for viruses after uploading.
Step by step
- Open Dateien.
- Tap Dateien hochladen (Upload files) and choose one or more files. On a computer, you can also just drag them into the box.
- Wait until everything is uploaded. Next to the file, it first says “wird geprüft” (being scanned), then “geprüft” (scanned).
- For a folder, tap Neuer Ordner (New folder), enter a name and tap Anlegen (Create). When a folder is open, everything you upload lands right in it.
- To rename, move or delete a file, tap the pencil next to it. There you’ll find Umbenennen (Rename), Verschieben nach (Move to) and Datei löschen (Delete file).
- The arrow next to a scanned file downloads it.
Note: A file can be up to 500 MB. Downloading and sharing only work once the virus scan is done.
Tip: You can choose and crop images from Dateien in a post under Eigenes Foto (Your own photo). If an image is called “logo.png,” for example, the Designer offers it under Logo hinzufügen (Add logo).
Removing a folder
Open the folder and tap Ordner „…“ entfernen (Inhalt bleibt) (Remove folder “…” (contents stay)) at the bottom. The files inside move up one level – nothing gets lost.
Not working?
- “… ist zu groß” (… is too large): A file can be at most 500 MB.
- Message that storage is full? See Storage space.
- “gesperrt: Virus” (blocked: virus): The virus scanner found something and the file is blocked. Delete it and upload a clean version.
- File stuck on “wird geprüft”? The list updates on its own. Wait a moment.
- “Höchstens 200 Ordner” (At most 200 folders): Clean up empty folders.
