What if uploading a file or image doesn’t work?
Usually the file is too large, the storage is full or the connection dropped briefly. The message on the upload tells you what’s going on – often it’s enough to reload the page and try again.

You upload files under Dateien (Files) with Dateien hochladen (Upload files) or simply drag them into the box. You can also add images for a post directly in the image picker with Hochladen (Upload) and then crop them.
Step by step
- Read the message that appears below the file – it tells you the reason (see below).
- Reload the page and try again.
- Check how much space is left under Speicher (Storage) at the top.
- For large files: use a stable connection, ideally Wi-Fi, and keep the page open until hochgeladen – wird geprüft (uploaded – being scanned) appears.
What the messages mean
- “… ist zu groß – höchstens … je Datei.” (… is too large – at most … per file.) The limit per file is shown right in the upload box. Make the file smaller or split it up.
- Storage full: Delete files you no longer need, or choose a bigger plan or an add-on. If your workspace has a fixed share of the storage, the owner can assign it more under Workspace & Team.
- “Verbindung abgebrochen – bitte noch einmal.” (Connection lost – please try again.) or “Die Datei ist nicht vollständig angekommen.” (The file didn’t arrive completely.) The internet connection dropped briefly. Upload the file again.
- “Die Seite ist abgelaufen. Bitte lade sie neu.” (The page has expired. Please reload it.) The page was open too long. Reload it and it’ll work.
- “Der Speicher ist gerade nicht erreichbar.” (Storage is currently unavailable.) That’s on our end. Try again in a few minutes.
Note: After uploading, a virus scanner checks every file. As long as it says wird geprüft (being scanned), you can’t share the file yet. If it says gesperrt: Virus (blocked: virus), it stays blocked.
Tip: In the image picker for posts, tiaki accepts JPEG, PNG and WebP. HEIC photos from an iPhone work if your browser can open them – otherwise set your camera to “Most Compatible” or choose a JPEG.
Not working?
- Nothing happens when you tap the button: See Page not loading properly.
- Your tiaki is paused: You can’t upload anything during the pause.
