What roles are there and who can do what?

Last reviewed 2 min read

There are three roles: owners can do everything, managers look after the workspace but can’t delete it, and team members write posts and submit them for approval. You change roles in the workspace menu under “Team.”

On this page

Every member has exactly one role in each workspace. The role only applies to that workspace – the same person can have a different role in another one.

The three roles

  • Inhaber (Owner): Whoever creates a workspace is its owner and can do everything. Only the owner can allow managers to invite people. The plan, payment method and renewal stay with the owner.
  • Verwalter (Manager): look after the workspace – connect and disconnect profiles, approve posts, maintain the company profile and settings, change billing details and download invoices. They can’t delete the workspace. They can only invite new people if the owner allows them to.
  • Mitarbeiter (Team member): write posts and submit them for approval, handle the inbox, comments and reviews, and use the files. They don’t invite anyone, don’t disconnect profiles and see neither the plan nor invoices.

Changing a role

  1. Open the workspace menu and choose Team.
  2. In the Mitglieder (Members) list, tap Mitarbeiter or Verwalter next to the person. The new role applies immediately.
  3. Owners only: next to a manager, tap Darf einladen (Can invite) or Lädt nicht ein (Can’t invite).

Note: Anyone who goes from manager to team member also loses permission to invite. If someone becomes a manager again, the owner has to allow inviting again.

Tip: The person affected gets a notification when their role changes.

Not working?

  • You can’t change a person’s role? Nobody can change or remove an owner, and you can’t change your own role.
  • You don’t see any buttons to change roles? Only owners, and managers the owner has allowed to invite, can do this.
  • “Das dürfen nur Inhaber …” (Only owners can …) – Ask the workspace owner.
